AP One-Name Studies gives a one-name study a home on your own WordPress site: surname variants, a searchable occurrence index, distribution maps, and full export - with your data in your own database.

One study per site #

Every edition manages one surname study per WordPress site. On first run, open One-Name Studies in the admin menu and use Set up your study to create it. The main screen is then that study. To run a second surname, use a separate WordPress site or multisite subsite.

The tabs #

• Spellings - register the study surname's variants and hold deviants (one-off errors).
• Occurrences - record each appearance of the name, or bring them in from a spreadsheet.
• Import - upload a CSV, match its columns, and manage record sets.
• Distribution - assign historic counties and see the map and summary table.
• Settings - display style, public pages, and data options.

When you are ready to publish, the Settings tab can create the public pages for you as drafts.
