Every Casework screen has a Help button. It opens the AncestorPress Support Copilot, which answers questions about using the plugin from documentation matched to your version. It is optional and read-only: it cannot change anything on your site.
Turning it on #
The first time it is opened, a user who can manage casework is asked to accept its privacy notice. Nothing is sent before then. The acceptance is recorded for the whole site and can be withdrawn on Casework → Support.
Who answers #
- With an AI provider connected in WordPress (Settings → Connectors), that provider answers, at your own cost. Your question stays between your site and your provider; the AncestorPress support service is asked only for the matching documentation.
- With no AI provider, the AncestorPress support service answers a few questions a month itself, free, once the site is connected through the Freemius opt-in or a support token.
What it sends #
Never your clients' information: no name, contact detail, intake answer, note or file. To help with a question it may send counts - how many clients, engagements, intake forms and files you have - and settings such as your retention period, upload limit and whether your upload folder is closed to the web.
The Support screen #
Casework → Support holds the support token, if AncestorPress has given you one, the support endpoint (leave it alone unless asked), which mode is answering, and the privacy consent.
Talking to a person #
With a licence or support token, the assistant can open a support ticket for you. On the free plan there is no ticket form; help from a person is on the WordPress.org support forum.
