Casework → Clients lists every client with their email address, how many engagements they have and their status. Every engagement belongs to one client, so add the client first.

Adding a client #

Use the New client form at the foot of the list. A name is required; email and phone are optional. An email address that does not look right is refused with a message rather than quietly dropped.

A client's record #

  • Name, email, phone and postal address.
  • Private notes - only you see these. They never appear on any client page.
  • Consent - the date the client gave permission to hold their information. It is recorded automatically when they send their intake form; until then it reads "Not recorded yet".
  • Engagements - every piece of work for this client, with its stage.
  • Their data - the download and anonymise tools. See "Privacy, GDPR and Keeping Records".

Status #

A client is Active until you anonymise them, when they become Anonymised: the record stays, named "Anonymised client" and a number, so the business record of the work still holds together, but their contact details are gone.
