Does my client need an account? #
No. They use the private link you send them, with a PIN if you add one.
I have lost a link I made #
Links are stored scrambled and cannot be shown again. Revoke the old one and create a new one.
My client says their link does not work #
Check the link's state on the tab that made it: it may have expired or been revoked, and intake links stop working once the form has been sent. After ten wrong PINs a client must wait fifteen minutes.
Does the plugin email my clients? #
No. You send their links, and tell them when there is something new on their page. The plugin emails only you: when an intake form is sent, and with Pro when a client signs something off, asks a question or is interested in an offer.
I am not getting the notification emails #
Check Send my notifications to in Settings; left empty, emails go to the site's administration address. If none arrive at all, your site may not be able to send email - an SMTP plugin usually fixes that.
The dashboard says my client files are open to the web #
Your server - usually nginx - ignores the rule the plugin writes. Add the line the warning shows to your nginx configuration, or ask your host to block web access to the folder, then press Check again. See "Client Uploads and File Security".
My client wants to change their intake answers #
Once sent, the form is locked so the record is exactly what they gave. Note the changes in the client's private notes, or carry them into the plan.
I cannot move an engagement to Delivered #
By default the client signs off the work first. Send it from the Deliverables tab; they sign off on their Reports and files page, or record a sign-off you hold by email on the Plan & Agreement tab. To stop asking, turn off the final sign-off in Settings or on the engagement's Billing & terms tab.
"The retainer is not recorded as paid" #
Set the payment status on the Billing & terms tab, or turn off the retainer check in Settings or for this engagement.
I cannot close an engagement #
Closing before the work is delivered needs a note saying why. Type one in the note box beside the status and update it again.
I cannot anonymise a client, or erase their data #
A client with work still open cannot be anonymised. Close their open work first.
What happens if I delete the plugin? #
Its settings are removed. Your clients, engagements and files are kept, unless you ticked Delete every client, engagement and stored file along with it under Keeping records in Settings first.
Is the free version limited? #
No. There is no limit on clients or engagements, no trial and no time limit. Pro adds features; it does not unlock a cap.
Where do I get support? #
Start with the Help button on any Casework screen. On the free plan you can also ask on the WordPress.org support forum. Pro licence holders can also open a ticket through the Help button or on the Casework Manager support page. Requirements: WordPress 6.2 or later and PHP 8.0 or later.
