Can visitors see my research? #
No. The plugin has no front-end output, and captured files are kept out of the REST media listing, attachment pages and the media library for anyone who cannot manage the plugin. Someone holding a file's direct link can still open it, as with any WordPress upload.
Will it change my data? #
No. Transcriptions are stored as typed, imports only add artefacts, and a promoted date is written as you entered it.
Is the free version limited? #
No. There is no cap, trial or time limit, and export always includes everything. One spreadsheet import can hold up to 20,000 rows.
My uploads are refused #
The site's allowed file types apply - WordPress refuses executable files such as .php. Images, PDFs and ordinary documents are accepted. If a large scan fails, check the upload size limit your host sets.
My spreadsheet imported into the wrong fields #
Use the mapping screen to match each column, and tick "keep skipped columns" so anything unmapped is preserved in the comments rather than dropped. Accented characters that look wrong usually mean the file was saved in an older encoding; the import converts Windows-1252, so re-saving as UTF-8 CSV also fixes it.
The AI features are missing #
They need the Pro edition and a provider configured in the WordPress AI settings. Without a provider they are absent rather than broken; manual transcription is always free.
Does the Help assistant see my research? #
No. It is optional and sends nothing until the site is connected and an administrator accepts its privacy notice. It then sends your question and counts of your records - never their contents - and it cannot change anything. It is read-only by construction.
The plugin stopped working after an update #
Deactivate and reactivate it. If the problem persists, deactivate other plugins temporarily to check for a conflict. Requirements: WordPress 6.2 or later and PHP 8.0 or later.
